Big news, folks. We’re going to be "world class" by having a soccer team. A local businessman - and political financier - has bought a team.
According to the morning paper, he has surveyed several cities to observe present soccer stadia.
"Of the ones he has toured, he said he liked the MLS stadium in Kansas City, MO., which was built for $200 million." (Our emphasis.)
Apparently there is, or will be, a contest to name the new team. We would simply remind our readers that when this subject came up a few weeks ago, we submitted our suggestion for naming the team the "Indy Paragons."
At no extra charge, we threw in a name for the playing field.
The Para-site.
Do we now know why the CIB really needs revenue from additional tax increases?
Are the taxpayers really going to put up with this "world class" BS (Biased Sludge) again?
If we can't find a site downtown, are we in time to get an express bus line to the Para-site set into the mass transit plans?
What next???
As soon as I saw that on the news, I knew that the next step would be the "necessity" of building a tax-funded playing field.

Well let's see The Star and the Local TV Stations can be begin their "World Class" hype. I can just see it and hear it all that giddy giggling, and manly guffaws by the TV Drones of how we will be World Class, if only we can build a new stadium.
The only question they will ask is how we can build another stadium not if we should.
